Evelyn Tapia-Fourth Grade Teacher

I have been teaching at Hale since 2006.  I have taught grades 3, 4, 5, and 6, both in special education and in regular classrooms throughout Minneapolis.  That totals over 30+ years!  And.... teaching is still my first love!

I earned my bachelor's degree in Evanston, Illinois, at National College of Education. After moving to Minneapolis from Chicago, I went to the University of Minnesota for Special Education certification. Later, I got my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of St. Thomas.  I continue to  regularly further my education by taking classes and workshops in a variety of areas.

I am extremely enthusiastic to gain new knowledge on a wide variety of topics (in other words, I LOVE TO LEARN!) and I enjoy sharing this enthusiasm with your child.   I believe that all students have the capability to learn.  My challenge is to meet them where they are, to keep them interested, engaged, motivated,  and to enjoy learning on our trip together through fourth grade!  I look forward to working with you to provide this success.
